A private group I belong to on Facebook regarding Belly Dance recently had an inquiry regarding how to improve backbends. Although the post was related to Belly Dance, I suggested some exercises that I was privy to through my dance, gymnastics, and yoga background.
Below are some Youtube tips that go through a series of exercises to help improve the backbend. These exercises are good for all movers regardless if you are a bellydancer or not. Please be intuitive with your own body if you choose to try any of these tips.

It’s been a busy but fun summer on top of daily life and events, preparations with The Red Tent came to fruition in a few public performance spotlights including Scapescape 2013 in Baltimore, MD. A lot of my former classmates were seen handling the production of the festival. Very inspiring to see a community effort for the arts. I’m looking forward to fall endeavors including my Glen Echo classes in October as well as future projects with The Red Tent. Kinikia
