A private group I belong to on Facebook regarding Belly Dance recently had an inquiry regarding how to improve backbends. Although the post was related to Belly Dance, I suggested some exercises that I was privy to through my dance, gymnastics, and yoga background.
Below are some Youtube tips that go through a series of exercises to help improve the backbend. These exercises are good for all movers regardless if you are a bellydancer or not. Please be intuitive with your own body if you choose to try any of these tips.

Last week I was honored to perform at Yayla’s Bistro in Arlington, VA. The food is super tasty too.
I have the best time performing with other artists. This is a rare opportunity where all entertainers got to mingle and meet including models, body painters, hoop dancers and the host is a genuinely nice woman whose entrepreneurial spirit is contagious.
